London based audio post production facility Sine Audio launches a new sister company SAW Music, a bold new music company that will specialise in bespoke composition and licensing.
Founded by Trait Sound’s Tom Field, Benson Herbert and Sine’s Phil Bolland, SAW will bring together decades of expertise in original composition, re-records, sonic branding, and music supervision. With a track record spanning iconic brands and award-winning campaigns across the UK and US, the company is built around one clear mission: creating music that truly connects.
Tom and Benson have worked in the advertising industry for over 10 years, founding Trait Sound in 2018. They are also independent artists, having released on some of the most forward thinking record labels in the music industry. They’ve toured around the world and bring this network of artists and expertise to the film, TV and advertising industry.
Phil is the lead engineer and founder of Sine Audio Post production which launched in 2022. Phil is a highly experienced sound designer with over 20 years' experience working at some of London’s top-flight facilities. In his career he has built a global network of agencies and directors, gaining a reputation for creative, award-winning work. He also works as a composer, producer and DJ running three successful record labels and will be adding his music production expertise to SAW.
SAW takes a refreshingly inclusive approach to its workflow. Being so closely involved with Sine enables the sound and music collaboration on projects to be seamless. Clients are involved early -- not just for sign-off -- and the team works closely with directors, editors, and sound designers to ensure the music supports the full creative vision. They collaborate with a strong roster of film composers, industry acclaimed artists, and top-tier session musicians. This includes the now-Australian-based Stare Crazy, meaning things are covered regardless of which timezone or hemisphere you’re in.
Benson remarks: "We love working with artists that can bring the passion from their personal work into the commercial world. We have spoken to too many artists who are consistently used as references on project briefs, yet are rarely approached for composition. Communication between these two worlds is the biggest challenge for both parties, and with our experience in both environments we want to bridge that gap. Our aim is to help artists continue to do what they love doing, whilst providing brands with music that feels exciting, cutting-edge and authentic."
Joining them are MD, Beth Tomblin and head of production, Caroline Jemirifo, both the driving force behind Sine’s production team. Together, the team has created a studio that’s agile, collaborative and focused on delivering outstanding work without unnecessary complexity.
Tom continues: ‘"We believe that while visuals tell the audience what to think, sound and music tell us what to feel. We always get involved in the briefing process as early as possible so that audio never feels like an after thought."
