Olivia Colman brings her trademark wit and warmth to Burberry’s latest campaign, ‘It’s Always Burberry Weather: Postcards from London’, directed by Shakespeare in Love filmmaker John Madden. The Academy Award-winning actor transforms into a cast of quintessential Londoners — from a cricket enthusiast to a chip shop worker — in four short films that celebrate the capital’s quirks and the brand’s 165-year legacy of craftsmanship.
“Each film celebrates just a few of the many characters you’ll encounter in London,” says Daniel Lee, Burberry’s chief creative officer. “It’s a love letter to the city and the people who give it its charm.”
The series follows a group of wide-eyed tourists exploring the city, encountering Colman’s vivid characters along the way. They’re joined by an international line-up of models — Amelia Gray, Liu Wen, Lucky Blue Smith, Mona Tougaard and Tyson Beckford — whose looks showcase Burberry’s reimagined outerwear collection.
The films culminate in a fast-paced finale interweaving moments from each story — a cinematic montage of London’s energy and Burberry’s signature silhouettes.
Extending beyond the screen, Burberry brings its heritage to life through immersive pop-ups inspired by the golden age of British rail travel. Drawing on the pioneering spirit of founder Thomas Burberry, the pop-ups evoke the romance of journeys home to London — blending the industrial architecture of train stations with Arts and Crafts detailing, in line with Daniel Lee’s slightly eccentric, bohemian vision.
Select destinations in China, Japan and the UAE will host themed pop-ups complete with ticket booths and gifting kiosks designed like station platforms. As a final nostalgic touch, replicas of the 1930s clock from Burberry’s original Haymarket store — recently restored and reinstalled at Horseferry House — will feature across key locations.
Burberry’s new collection reframes rainwear through playful proportions and luxurious materials. The Castleford trench — worn by Colman — returns in water-resistant cotton gabardine, crafted in Yorkshire, while the new Fitzrovia coat brings an A-line silhouette to the house’s signature shape.
For men, the relaxed-fit Chestwood nods to an archival trench from the 1980s. The Berryhill car coat fuses traditional tailoring with down-filled warmth, and the Floriston quilted jacket — seen on Amelia Gray — takes on a boxy cut in glossy nylon, trimmed with corduroy.
Outdoors-inspired details meet refined craftsmanship across the collection: the Kensington trench appears in brushed technical cashmere, while rainwear details are reimagined in wool for the Belmont trench cape. A belted herringbone coat and modern aviator jackets lined with shearling add texture and softness to winter dressing, alongside puffer jackets in corduroy and Burberry Check — rendered in rich tones of wine red and truffle brown.
This season’s palette refreshes Burberry beige with subtle shades of clam and ice, grounded in camel, navy and black, and enriched by hues of clay brown, coal grey, mahogany and twilight blue.
