Park Pictures Signs BAFTA-Winning Director Savanah Leaf

​Park Pictures London has expanded their UK and Amsterdam roster with the addition of Savanah Leaf, the writer/director behind BAFTA-winning feature ‘Earth Mama’ and lauded Super Bowl spots for Adidas and the NFL.

A former Olympic volleyball player for Great Britain, Savanah's body of work bridges narrative, commercials, and art; weaving together powerful imagery with deeply human storytelling.

Savanah's acclaimed debut feature, Earth Mama, premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival to widespread critical praise for its intimate portrayal of motherhood and resilience. It went on to win a BAFTA for Outstanding Debut by a British writer, director, or producer, the Audience Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival, Best Lead Performance and the Douglas Hiscox Award at the British Independent Film Awards, was selected for the National Board of Review’s Best Indie Films, and was nominated for Best First Feature and Best Breakthrough Performance at the 2023 Independent Spirit Awards, among other honours.

Her distinctive work earned her a nomination for the Grammy for Best Music Video for 2020’s ‘This Land’ by Gary Clark Jr., and in 2023 the BFI x Chanel Filmmaker Award recognized her as an exciting voice in contemporary cinema. Her 2023 short Run - starring Savanah herself - exhibited at Hauser and Wirth LA, SF MOMA, and Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and was followed up in 2024 with Run 002, starring Savanah and actor Willem Defoe.
